Hi, I hope this is not an old topic - I could not find it by searching.

My 740 and also my Android application do not properly switch flight plan legs as I arrive at a waypoint.   The old course leg is still highlighted, and as a result the autopilot continues on for several miles (3-4) without turning onto the new course leg.   Is there a setting which tells the system when to switch from one course leg to the next?

Gordon, thank you for posting, and I apologize for this defect.  We have fixed this for version 10.0 due out within a couple weeks.  Not only have we fixed this defect, but have also improved upon the requirements, such that we've added a turn timer, so for waypoints where there is a turn involved, it'll actually tell you to turn ahead of the waypoint, and switch to the next waypoint at the right time, such that a standard 2-minute turn will merge you directly onto the next routeline.  We have also added a new "Turn Timer" which pops up 60 seconds before the turn, to notify you of the timing.  We hope you'll like the new logic, coming your way very soon, in version 10.0.

Thank  you Brian, that sounds great.  Look forward to installing 10.0

Does this mean that the "turn anticipation timer" will also generate a USB to serial NMEA signal to guide an autopilot?

Thanks

Bob

Not to speak for the iFly software professionals, but I think it means that the new course leg will be activated at the appropriate time before reaching the waypoint and the appropriate NMEA/USB signals will be transmitted .  Then the autopilot internal software will generate a turn to intercept the new leg.
