SOM - The flight timer is available as an instrument (box) that you can add to any instrument set (setup/customize instruments). When you tap on the instument box brings up a pop up asking you to confirm if you want to reset it. In most of my instrument sets I have a separated slightly from the the other insturments so that if I fat finger it on the screen I can't hit an adjacent instrument and inadvertently change the instrument set.

Thanks, I didn't know I could reset the flight timer. I guess that will work but was thinking there should be two different timers.

I like that the flight timer doesn't automatically reset after each flight, but it's very easy to forget to reset it.

Another possibility would be to have an option on the reset feature to choose whether you want to reset to 0 or to the time since your last takeoff. That way, if you're 15 minutes into a flight, you can still set the timer to be accurate for the current leg.

Good idea. I'll add this comment and idea to wish list.

Does the flight timer only work when traveling? It seems to. At the beginning of many flights I'll reset the timer to zero, and after well over an hour it may still read only a few minutes on the timer. In a helicopter you don't have to be going anywhere to still be flying. I many times spend the biggest part of a lesson doing ground maneuvers with my students. Then maybe a few patterns or a quick flight to a local practice area and back. The timer most often doesn't show the actual time since resetting it to zero.
