On airport information page, include a hyperlink to Google Maps or default mapping app in the IOS and Android iFly.  Perhaps in the longitude and latitude field (which is pretty useless as text). Maybe add a confirmation pop-up to avoid accidentally exiting iFly.

When planning routes and stops, it would be convenient to be able to jump to google maps to see proximity of community, roads, restaurants, hotels, and other features of the area.

Could you describe the use case you're envisioning?

On the ground, why can't you just switch apps to Google Maps if you want to see something in GMaps?

If you're in the air, Internet access is not guaranteed (in my experience, it's hardly ever available, though YMMV), so GMaps might not be (or in my case, almost certainly isn't) available.

I agree.  I have often wished for an online Maps link, or even a little wider view beyond the immediate airport vicinity (perhaps a mile or 2) while exploring multiple airport possibilities while flight planning on the ground.

I kind of had the same reasoning as Cobra.  However...

If iFly does do this, I'd suggest something like http://vfrmap.com/about.html  It has the ability to switch between VFR, IFR, and a street map, and they keep the same scale and location of airport markers.

In the interim, this is the map site that is linked to on Airnav, https://www.airnav.com/airports/ , so until iFly implements this, you could get the same thing by putting your particular airport into Airnav, and click on the sectional image on the right side (on a Windows desktop)
