Right now I bring my device home after flying every time, and check for updates before I head out to go flying.  I would like it if I could get an email when new charts or databases are released to prompt me to update my device so I dont have to go into the check for update menu as often.

In addition to the email, it would be nice if the app had a notification that the data is close to expiration instead of only letting me know when I open the app.

Your email idea would be a big help with the 740 and other hardware iFly devices that aren't ordinarily connected to the web.

Do you guys remember the "good old days" when we had to actually read the chart to see when it became "expired" and how everyone would debate flying with charts just weeks out of date? Perhaps I am dating myself!

I am SO GLAD all the charts are now digitized and it is just ONE BUTTON to push to update every month or so.

We ask a LOT of the small iFly staff...is this somethign we can do on our own? Can you imagine if you had to keep and update a database of everyone's e-mail here?

I have a reminder on my personal calendar to go in once a month and update everything - makes it easy on me.

Your results may vary!
