Thank you, Shane. I could live with having to send my flight plan to my AP account and then down load it to a USB stick so as to load it in my iFly 700. It would be so much simpler, though, if I could just directly down load the flight plan to the USB stick. Is there a security problem doing that? BTW, the subject title is wrong. What I want to do is transfer my flight plans from my tablet to my iFly 700. Thanks again. - Jim Williams

No, it's not so much a security issue. It's more of a uniformity standard. Each Android van have different ways they handle the USB port... and Apple does not even allow to send data to the lightning port, only input to my last knowledge. This may change as they are opening up more extensions and integration.

We actually would like to be able to send Flight Plan data, etc to the USB port, but it was initially determined to be a third party hardware support issue. We will revisit this USB path again once we begin that feature. It may be that it is only supported on Major Brands, Latest Android OS, etc to help mitigate the support influx. It's still a bit to early to tell, but we will exhaust our avenues.

It's also a great opportunity to move up to a Re-Cert 720 or even the 740. Once you experience the brightness, speed and wifi sharing, I think you would not look back. If you are interested, give me a call and I can work something out with you on a trade-up.

We also have it on our wishlist to make the Flight Plan, Settings, Aircraft/Pilot profiles, etc part of a cloud based account feature. Basically push your Flight Plan, or Settings to your account, then pull it down to another device or as part of an update package. Stay tuned and thanks for the feedback.

Very clever idea. I've not yet updated my new Android backup tablet with Plane and Pilot info, not because it's hard, but because it's kind of a pain to sit down with both old and new and hand copy from one to the other. So for now, I do all flight planning on the old tablet. (Which is our primary in-flight tablet anyway.)

I fly 5 different rental planes. It only took a few minutes to manually copy all the airplane setups from my IPad Mini 4 to my new IPhone 6S Plus (backup device). It's easy to share flight plans with two tablets/phones connected to your router.
