Towers

With my previous GPS, the towers that were at my altitude or higher would glow with a red halo. I miss this. As a low and slow pilot, I find it difficult and time consuming with my iFly to figure out which towers I need to worry about if I am working in an area that has many towers. Has anybody found a better way to quickly see which towers I need worry with?

I flew yesterday by several towers higher than I was. Each of these had a red circle around them showing they were. This shows up better on 'Vector' mode than on 'Sectional' mode. (iFly700)

Thanks Jim for your reply. I mostly use the Vector mode and I have not seen the red circles. I must not have something set correctly? Any idea what I'm doing wrong? I will read my manual more. Again, thanks.

Are you sure you're running version 7 software and have all the databases installed?

A chat with the AP support guys on the phone might be in order.

Paul,

If you have Version 7, you might take a look at the Alerts and Warnings in the Setup menu. Set the Collision Alerts to Moderate or Strict, this will pop more alerts. You should see a Red "Halo" around the towers that are close to your altitude. I've attached a picture to give you an example. You'll notice the majority of the screen it yellow, then the some red, the towers are highlighted with a red circle around them.
