We actually had that several versions ago, think it was back in V5. The combination of the colors with a Reference or Key box is an interesting idea. I'll definately pass that one along.

Hope you don't put the airplane in the center of the screen. I want to know what is in front of me, not whats behind. Track up!

Ollie,

No worries, it should stay as it is. Just getting feedback based on the distance ring topic. I personally could only see a reason to offer an option to center the icon when in North Up. Track Up is good as is.

Check out my thread on finding current location using the touch method.

If ATC asks, or just before calling ATC and you want to give them your current location, simply touch a fix or ref point on the map.

I agree, this (a simple way to reference current location) would be helpful for communications with initial ATC calls and perhaps even more so with FSS and Flight Watch.
