Since "streets" is turning out to be a real game changer and there is now a great mount for use in the car, how about a more convenient and durable coil cord (like they use with radar detectors).

The existing wire is fine for the plane. Mine is setup as a permanent mount so I will need another for the car. A coil would be easier to travel with / pack in a flight bag. Thanks!

Dave,

Thanks for the great feedback on iFly Streets. As for the DC cord, we are looking at options for a new style DC cord. Maybe coiled, maybe with a on/off switch on the Cig end. I've even had the thought of sourcing a plug that had a mini emergency battery or super capacitor built into it. So if the plug came out or power failed, you might have few minutes to resolve or land. Just a few options and most definately something to look into. Keep any eye out as we are always looking at ways to improve and accelerate the iFly GPS. Have a great weekend and Happy Holidays!

Hey Shane -

Any luck on a coiled chord yet? Desperately need a second power supply for the car.....actually, it would probably work well in the plane too. Thx.

Dave,

I haven't found a direct replacement yet, been a little tied up with Oshkosh follow ups and more. Radio Shack has a coiled DC plug with assorted tips. The tip size for the iFly is 3.5mm OD x 1.3mm ID barrel as they sell tips seperately. Below is the link, I hope this helps. Frys might have an option two. Below is a link.

Going through my electronics parts bin after I acquired my iFLY I found a heavy duty coiled DC cable with the correct plug for the iFLY. Now if I can remember what it came from.....
