Flybuddy,

Thank you for this feedback. Most have found the unit bright enough, but we are aware that some situations make the screen more difficult to read...ie, a bright day in an untinted bubble canopy ;-). So far we have not found a existing hardware platform that solves that problem while fulfilling our our other requirements. As you speculate, pricing for a custom built unit would dramatically increase cost, and potentially introduce quality issues vs. going with something that already has massive scale and history to work out all the wrinkles. However we have our ear to the ground on this, and the technology is rapidly evolving. If/when we do have a brighter unit (iFly 750?), existing iFly 700 owners will be offered a generous trade-up program. And because the cost will be more, we will likely continue to sell the iFly 700 as we have been really pleased with the quality of that hardware.

Thanks!
Walter

Has anyone had a chance to test out the Nushield in the air. Does it improve readability in bright conditions? For the most part, I have little problems, but on a very bright day and the co-pilot is wearing light colors, I get a little more glare than I would like.

I am working an a panel mount swivel solution that would allow for quick attachment. That may fix it if I can aim it more directly at me.

I'm sure this is a matter of opinion, in my humble one the NuShield does not improve sunlight readability on the iFly 700. I discussed this with them: They said that because the iFly already has an anti-glare treatment on the screen, their product is not providing much additional benefit other than screen protection.

Thanks Walter, saves me the waste of the product. Like I said I think when I can mount it so it aims more at me, it will eliminate my issue.

I've been using the NuShield about as long as most folks here and while I agree it doesn't increase view-ability by any sizable percentage now, it will a year or two down the road when use has taken it's toll. All touch screen devices that I've ever seen degrade with use, some to the degree of near un-usability so if you put the film on now while the O.E. screen is in new condition, you can enjoy the same clarity by replacing the film. If you wait...................
