We have that nice "Current Location" instrument to tell us our current coordinates. But I've never used it--I'm always right here !
What I would use a lot is an instrument that showed the coordinates of where I wanted to go--the center of the Map, regardless of where in the world I had dragged it to.
For planning purposes, that is--and dreaming. It probably wouldn't be very practical very often in flight.
