It might be worthwhile to add a "start turn/stop turn" button to the simulator controls.  It could be depicted as an arrow pointed left and one pointed right.  When clicked, the simulator would begin a turn of 3 degrees per second (standard rate turn) in the direction of the arrow and the arrow would turn red.  When clicked a second time, the turn would stop and the arrow would return to black.

I have asked for this in the past, but it got no traction.

Same here.  That would be more airplane-like, and would allow more definite roll-out.

That's a good suggestion.

And, if the simulator logic is being looked at for this, could I re-ask for the capability to have iFly auto-fly a route in the simulator so we can "fly" a long route without spending a lot of time and effort to manually do so?  (by going to high speed for all/parts of the route)  What I envision is using this in EFIS mode especially.  When it's auto-flying the route it could do what you suggest in terms of using a standard rate turn.

Or how about this one?

Keep the control box as it is with Track Left, Track Right buttons.

Then...

1st Click = Standard Rate Turn

2nd Click (same direction button) = Roll-out of SRT

2nd Click (opposite direction button) = SRT the other way (because you overshot)

Press & Hold = Double Rate Turn

Hold Longer = Triple Rate Turn

Hold Longer Yet = Lomcevak.

I think the simulator controls work fine as they are, but if this is considered I'd suggest modifying it to:

1st Click = Standard Rate Turn

2nd Click = (opposite direction) Roll-out of SRT

2nd Click (same direction) = Double Rate Turn

Third Click = Triple Rate Turn

Effectively, each click would be a standard rate increase or decrease in the direction the arrow pointed. I think it would be counterintuitive if I clicked once on the right arrow I'd turn right, but if I clicked the right arrow again, I'd go left.
