iFly's SynthVision really pays off when flying around mountainous terrain, especially at dusk or night. Wait 'til you see it.

I would love to have the synthetic vision for those times when visibility is lower than anticipated, plus it has a great "ghee whiz" factor.  It can be a lifesaver for VFR flying if/when one encounters that visibility or mountanious terrain, sure.  It can keep you out of (stupid pop-up TFR's?), Class B, C, and D (and associated headaches/trouble) and help a great deal when landing if it's accurate enough.

So I'm not saying we don't need it.  I'm saying I recognize a huge amount of resources have to be poured into it (with normal programming methods) and there are other, more immediate errors and safety issues that take priority, at least in my little opinion.

We're working on what will arguably be the best synthetic vision available from any of the navigation apps.  Stay tuned!

Pop up TFR's aren't stupid. They are there for a reason.
