I think an option encorporated in the flight plan to automatically show runway extensions at the destination and enroute airport landings would be a nice feature.  Save having to do it while enroute as I use this feature a lot.

I use it most all the time also.

Hmm, at first glance sounds like a good idea, however our experience with iFly over time has shown us that many airports have multiple runways - which might be a bit confusing when looking quickly at the iFly display during setup for a landing (we're all looking primarily out the windshield, right?)

Might I suggest that having just the runway you've selected to land on based upon your observation of wind direction/strength whether obtained from metars/asos/awos and or visual observation might lead to greater situational awareness during an approach?  And in the event that your preselected runway (based upon weather reports or observations) is incorrect or changes at last minute, then a go around is in order which would also allow the pilot to change the preselected runways while setting up for a second approach.

Finally, I'd acknowledge that sometimes the winds are calm - providing multiple runway choices.  In that case, selecting multiple runways makes all kind of sense unless the airport has published calm wind runways or the local traffic commonly uses a particular runway during calm wind conditions.

The request for automatic runway extension is not new, and I believe there is enough interest in automatically extending the runways to at least offer a user option to do so.  Nothing fancy, just extend them all like some of the other EFB's do.  I think the combination of extended runways and the wind vector, when present, adds to situational awareness.

It would AT MOST need to be an option.  I never use runway extensions and don't want them.  I see how some would.
