Let me explain. I was at Oshkosh last week and I want to thank Walter and the other staff members for their time and support. On my way back to Maryland we fllew over the SFRA the security zone around Washington DC. My former flight instructor asked me to look up 2 fixes for the VFR corridor. I usually fly with the vector map as it is much easier to work with. So every time I needed some additional information I need to change the map to VFR, change the map orientation to north up To be able to read the information. I found myself doing that several times in a short period of time. I use an iPad mini4 as it works well size wise. But with a little but turbulence your fingers can land on other buttons than planned. And you have to do the button dance again.

So I would like a shortcut  or maybe better stated macro button. I can program/record certain actions that I do often and the replay by clicking one button. I love this software and am more amazed everyday what it can do, Walter showed me a few things I did not know it did!  But as always with software it can get to the point where you need to click or push too many buttons.

If each Map Mode remembered what Orientation you last used (North Up or Track) would that solve your problem? If yes, that sounds easier than another button.

I always fly with North up.  I have always done that, even with charts, VFR or IFR.  It just works better for me.  I do wish we could rotate between portrait and landscape on the fly.

How about a button to close the approach plate. I find that if I want to look at the plate while enroute, closing it is a really difficult. Specifically finding the actual airport on the chart to click to close, versus just clicking a button to close it.

"Plates" button on the lower right just above the zoom buttons?
