While this is a Wish List and open for discussion, I agree some pilots may use this. But, generally I do any flight planning at home before a trip from my home airport. So I don't need it there. If it's trip to a destination with a turnaround back home, I just use the Reverse feature. If I'm on a cross country trip that may last several days or weeks, I always use the "Fly direct to" feature and either add waypoints into the flight plan manually, or rubber band my way.

Ideas are great. For me 75% of my flight plans are doing "what ifs" from future position airports, as such this feature would be a net negative for me.

To those who don't want it or consider it a negative: thats why I suggested it simply be an optional feature and therefore, if you don't want it or don't need, it, if you never select or opt for that option, the present program and flight plan page would appear and function exactly as you're used to!

Perhaps I shouldn't have used the word "default" ... what I meant was that the flight plan would default to the nearest airport as the departure airport if and only if you had selected the option, but I would like for it to "remember" the selection for future reboots of the iFly unless it was turned "off."

I think people should weigh in on all suggestions to help Adventure Pilot determine the level of interest. Since they don't have unlimited resources and an already long list of potential improvements, they need to decide which suggestions should be pursued. Something that might sound like a good idea might not be worth the effort if there is little or no interest from more than one or two users.

John, I like your idea. Maybe just have the last destination airport pre-filled in, but not selected. That way you can select it if you want, or hit backspace and start typing a new one. Since we can only file one-legged flight plans, I'm usually entering the next flight plan before the current leg is complete so it can be filed as soon as I land, and this option would speed up that process. As an owner, my next flight will almost always start where the last one ended so again, it's a timesaver. An additional idea would be to have a "Frequent" flyout box similar to NRST, where iFly keeps a weighted list of my most-used airports. That would help me, as I frequent a lot of the same airports. It could also benefit renters who fly out of multiple airports.
