So, I was flying home at night over some mountains. Lights were dimmed in the plane, and so was my tablet. The tablet was dimmed so much that the yellow Terrain warning was barely discernable from the Sectional coloring in my descent to home base, even tho I have Terrain set to flash. (Opacity set to 75%.)
Now, I know I can set an "Alert" to warn me. But 1) I hardly even notice the blue button on the left, and 2) even if I did, I have to read a bunch of text to see what the alert is about. So, frankly, as it is now, I don't enable the Alert feature
It's said that a picture is worth a thousand words, so how about this instead: When "Alert Thresholds" are enabled, instead of the blue button, how about if the VP pops up, full size, when you're close to terrain? After all, it's terrain that you want to avoid, and with that picture, you'll quickly see the terrain you're about to hit.
Same thinking for airspace alerts. Instead of the blue button with lots of text to read, how about if the Quick View pop up pops up in Airspace mode, showing the blue outline around the airspace that you're about to violate? You'll get the message quickly.
