Now that ADS-B owners have an instrument to show the nearest altimeter setting, how about a similar instrument that shows nearest ceiling?

Jeff,

Noted. Are you looking for the nearest Cloud Base/Ceiling altitude or nearest airspace ceiling/floor? I suspect you are speaking of cloud ceiling, but I could see the potential for both. This would also make a great layer to be shown like how we have Fuel Prices, etc. Maybe as a subset of a Metat/Taf settings?

FYI, we are working on some awesome "internet" Weather features that will add interactive Prog charts, sigmets, satellite visibility, etc.

I'll add Nearest Ceilings to the wishlist for further discussion and consideration. Nice feedback and have a great weekend.

Display this in the verticle profile please. I'm most interested in how close to the towers are to the mvfr clouds.

Also, Look up RUC soundings, you could display the layers between the clouds quite nicely. For planning only of course...

The whole RUC soundings product is awesome, once you figure out what you're looking at. I'd love a flight planning feature that would calculate the RUC soundings say, every 20 miles along the route and graphically display the projected cloud layers/temps/winds at different flight altitudes in a vertical profile view. It'd take some processing power and would probably have to be a web-based flight planner with the horsepower on a server that then downloaded the result to iFly, but man... that'd be sweet.
