Brain had made similar comments and I was curious if any new information was available, as well as casting another vote for seamless charts.

Tough being a developer and trying to anticipate the greatest needs for the largest potential customer base.

We're shooting for our next release to include three major features: Seamless charts, fuel prices, and online flight plan filing. No promises...but I expect the first beta versions of these features to start being released within weeks, and full release in 2-3 months tops. We're also adding iPhones to our supported products.

Thanks!
Walter

Thanks Walter, good to know it is nearer the top than the bottom of the future features list.

I'm guessing there was some delay to the seamless charts? To be honest, I'm coming from a partially defunct Android competitor, and this is an important feature to me. I love a lot of the other features in IFly, but this was a biggie for me. Give me more of a reason to just give you my money! LOL

We programmers don't really understand timeframes. It's our bane. But, version 9 - which includes Seamless Charts - is close to being released to beta, and it looks great.

We have some capabilities that none of the others have. For example, many seamless solutions will have some small data loss at the seams, where 2 charts joined and an airport frequency or some other text or icon was cut in half. We avoid that by overlapping our seams where this can happen, so if you ever see some clipped data just tap the other side of the seam and we'll render the other chart on top. Basically it looks like the seam just moves out of the way.

The system will automatically select the best chart, WAC, TAC, or Sectional, based on your zoom level. But we also let you toggle, with one tap, between these. Have you ever tried zooming in on a some piece of data on a Sectional, only to have it transition to a TAC - then you have to hunt a new map for your data? With our solution no sweat, just tap the Switch Maps icons and we'll flip back to the Sectional.

Finally, we have clipped out all the interesting parts of all the borders, and organized and named these images. So if you want to see something that was on the legend, you tap, pull the Legends menu, then select the information type you want "MOAs", "VFR Waypoints", etc. We just list all the legends appropriate to the chart you tapped. So super easy to find now.

Anyway, hope you like it. This will be an exciting release.
