I'd like an option added to the Possible Actions dropdown that appears when I tap a spot on the map. Labeled "Cross At..", it would bring up the number keyboard and I would key in an MSL altitude. At that point, the screen would continually display a number at the spot i had pressed (until i am moving away from it) telling me how many FPM I need to climb or descend in order to cross that spot at the desired altitude. That way, when ATC tells me to cross FIX123 at 6,000 I can quickly see and monitor the rate needed. My G430 can do this, but it takes lots of dial switching and punching and selecting and head down time, and that's IF the waypoint is already in the flight plan.
No intermediate menu is necessary to select an actual fix; it's going to be accurate enough for planning purposes as long as I touched reasonably close to the desired spot.
Thanks for considering.
