There is a thread already here discussing the big fat course line that is on the plate display by default. I don't want to see that, but I also don't want to see my "instruments." I have the instruments at the top of the display where they inconveniently block the briefing strip on the plate. Other users, though, may have different preferences.

Enhancement: Give us a declutter button that works more or less like the G430/530/1000. Repeated pushes cycle the display through various clutter options. Maximum clutter would be instruments and fat course line. Next clutter might be fat course line only. Next, thin course line. Finally nothing but the plate and the airplane symbol. Or something like that.

Also, on the latest Android App and iPad update coming soon, you will notice if you open the app in Landscape, there is a "Blank" Group already built. Just do the same for Portrait and set it to the Blank when you are on a Plate, it will become the "sticky" instrument group for plates mode.

That works great. It gets rid of everything interfering with the approach plate view except the heavy course line.

"... blank ... the "sticky" instrument group for plates mode. "

Cute & nice to know. Clearing the instruments gets me 90% to where I'd like to be. Someone suggested that a workaround for the fat course line would be set the FAF or an IAF as the destination. I'll probably try that though I'm not sure what the other consequences of that might be. Wrong Destination Airport ETE, for one. But flying the approach will make a liar out of the GPS ETE anyway.

So the idea of the instruments being sticky to the screen mode got me fired up. I went to the WX page to select the blank instrument group for that page as well. No joy. I guess the stickiness is to "any map" mode and to plates, so only two. Oh, well .... Not that important.
