During my 8.5 hour trip to Utah last week, it became very evident how often I want to pull up METAR and Barometric pressure settings on cross country flights.

Right now, when you press a location on the screen, you get an Options button, along with a cloud that contains some data. It would be very nice to have the closest Barometer, Ceiling, and Visibility information displayed in the cloud (from ADSB), rather than all of the button pushes necessary to swap from map/vector views to weather view and back.

Alternatively, you could display a miniature wx icon on the map and vector screens that would graphically indicate vfr/mvfr/ifr conditions. If the user pressed the icon, the wx details, including barometer could be displayed.

I know the information is shown on other screens, but that takes time and attention away from flying the plane, and can be difficult in turbulence, or when flying in a group.

When flying XC I've wished there was an easy way to get METARS, too. As for the barometric pressure, I wondered if that could be offered as a configurable box that a user opts to put on the screen, or not, like ground speed, ETA, etc. My thought on that is the iFly would populate the box with a barometric pressure from a nearby airport and note the airport identifier in the box. I'd prefer it to be an airport I'm flying towards and not just one within a 20 nm radius...but I'll work with what's possible.

It's almost funny that now that I have easy access to weather while flying, I'm looking for ways to make it even easier but anything that reduces single pilot workload is a good thing in my opinion.

Don,

Good information, we are looking into ways to add more options in a revise UI in a future update. But there is only so much space in the bubble area, we've thought about having buttons on that cloud to allow you to access difference info in that area. More to come.

Keep in mind you can touch and hold the airport or spot on the screen and then touch "Weather Information" , and when connected to ADS-B you will get that data. This is 3 touches and we'd like to get that down. I've put your comments on the internal WishList and I think it gives us a good picture of what is needed. Thanks for the great feedback.

Understood, and thanks for the consideration.

I do like Don's suggestion too. Maybe we have instrument boxes one with the destination metar/barometer, and another with the next waypoint metar/barometer. Of course, we would have to be selective about waypoint selection.

I'm not sure why I would need to know the destination barometric pressure until I'm effectively on arrival, but as long as it's in a optional box that I can choose to either display or not, it doesn't matter.

Enroute I would prefer to have the ability for the iFly to display the next automated/METAR barometric pressure ahead of me, rather than just picking whatever waypoints I may have selected. For one thing, I may have plotted a direct 300nm leg between waypoints, if the iFly only displayed the barometric pressure of the destination or other plotted waypoints, I'd never have enroute altimeter settings.
