Help! I have the VIP TFR over MVY, about 40 miles south of my home airport. I just downloaded a TFR and METAR update, since I'm planning to fly tomorrow. But the TFR isn't showing on the iFly. I have TFR's set to shaded on the setup/special use airspace options. Shouldn't this appear on the map? is there something else I need to do to have the TFR's visible. Really appreciate an advisory. This is a key feature on the unit, and critical to tomorrow's flying.

Bill,

I just tried this and I see the TFR over MVY. I am aware of a sporadic issue with TFRs not showing correctly, you may have run into this; we are still trying to pin down the exact cause. Try downloading the TFR update again and see if it shows up.

If you can spare a few minute, and if you are familiar with reading SD cards on your computer, you might be able to help: Before you do another update, if you can e-mail me two files from your SD card, they are "\Data\tfrs.xml" and "\Data\tfrs.xml.bin", it would help me diagnose this issue. If you cannot do that, I understand. I am committed to getting this fixed in our upcoming version 4 release.

Now, even when fixed, you should always contact official FAA services for the latest TFR information.

Hi Walter,

Glad its being worked on. No problem getting you copies of the files. But I don't have access to a computer with a card reader tonight. Will see if i can get those for you tomorrow.

I've downloaded the METAR/TFR update 3 times with no change. The MVY TFR still doesn't show. Looking around the map, the "permanent TFR's" are visible (the DC area, and P-67 in Maine for example), as well as restricted airspace in the MVY area like the PAVE/PAWS site at OTIS, and No-Mans Land just West of MVY. Just not the VIP one.

Sorry. I wasn't able to copy the files. I don't have an SDHC card reader.

I tried downloading again, and still no luck on the MVY TFR.

I'm sure sorry about this bug; I'm testing on the new code base and have been unable to recreate the issue. I'll try to dupe this on the old code base as well, to verify it's fixed in version 4.
