I have an ifly 720. Posted some threads that Walt responded indicating I needed a firmware upgrade and should call support. Called twice this week. Left a message on the answering machine a couple of days ago. Called again today and spoke with Patty(?) who said Ed would call me back in 15-20 mins. No callback.

Is there a link to download the firmware?

What is the current version of the firmware? I don't ever recall updating my 720.

From what I've gathered, there are multiple OS versions in the field for both the 700 and the 720. In a nutshell, you don't have to worry about updating your OS unless you encounter a problem that requires an upgrade. (I.e., some older units in the field may have an OS that can't support new capabilities in v7, but there might be three OS's since then that are essentially the same from a user perspective).

Depending on the unit, an OS upgrade might require AP to mail out an SD card, or it may be possible to upgrade via the normal "Update" path (i.e., the same way you normally update software and charts). It's possible you've upgraded your OS and it was so painless you don't even remember doing it.

Sounds like you probably get the firmware that comes with the unit and if there's an issue that's fixed with a firmware update you get one as needed. It sounded kind of risky because you device can become stuck in upgrade mode which is probably why they send an sd card. Ed has called back and I'm just waiting for him to finish testing the update before he send it.
