Guys,

I was thinking about all the suggestions that have been made with respect to new and improved features and there seems to be quite a few. Maybe Shane or Walter could put together a list of what they are working on and we could give feedback as to what we feel the priorities are. I know from experience where I work that without priorities it is impossible to meet time lines when all projects have the same prioroties using common resources.

Your thoughts??

Jim,

Great feedback. We actually record each request and then monitor the demand and future requests for that respective request. The Wish-list requests come in on the Forum, Phone and email. We also get them while at shows from comments from customers that we bring back. This wishlist is prioritized in High, Medium, Low and other categories and subcategories if they are confirmed for a update, possible, in progress, etc.

The problem with using the forum to prioritize these topics is that, only a small percentage of our customers regularly use the forums. That is why we keep an internal list and jockey those items around based on demand (Web, Forum, Phone, Email, Shows,etc.). Then there more complex factors of programming logistics, data availability and others. Some features may not have a higher priority, but may become a very simple addition when accompanying a larger or more priority enhancement.

We've actually talked about this before, but I'll go over it with Walter and Brian again to see about a "In Progress" list or something. It's is very difficult to commit to features for a timeframe based on the above. Plus this gives away feature development to our competitors as they are also monitor these forums. I manage the Wishlist based on all pilot feedback and then Walter and Brian work in those items into the Development projects.

I've suggested something similar to this, except I thought of it partially as a "wants" list, and part as a "brag" list. I envision special page with two listings.

One would be the "wants", that is, a complete list of all the things that users have suggested, possibly with a (IP regulated to keep folks from casting multiple votes for the same feature) voting option so owners could vote on potential improvements/features they'd like to see.

The other would be the "brag". This would be a listing of all the improvements and added features and their introduction date. This would seem to back up, and promote the very unusual behavior of the Adventure Pilot/iFly team in that they listen to, and act on customer feedback.

These pages would also serve as a feature page for finding capabilities that some of us may not even know this unit has, as well as a reminder of how much this product has changed and improved over time with virtually no additional cost to owners.

I can understand that they wouldn't want to give away internal secrets, or give the competetion an advantage, but I don't see how listing what a bunch of pilots think ought to be in the iFly could compromise their mission. I also wouldn't expect the iFly team to proritize, or give hard release dates until there is no chance of not meeting the priority/date. As a matter of fact, the only input from the iFly officials for this page, would be them posting the suggestions acquired from e-mail, phone, or trade shows, or adding votes gathered through the aforementioned avenues.

All that to say that I would like to see something like this.

Mike, I understand; we also have competitors that would love to see what we're planning next. So for many reasons, we keep this lost close to our chest. I hope you understand.

Thanks,

Walter

Can we expect anything new coming soon? How about the EFIS?
