Just tried to do an update on my unit. I hadn't updated to the newest software, so proceeded to do that. However, I somewhat foolishly ignored the info box saying to select the first three boxes for the update. Instead I just downloaded and installed the 6.5.10 operating software. That seemed to fire up fine, so I then proceeded to try to update all the various data packages. Plugged it into my IFly and got the message that "The update file is not intended for this device. Remove the USB Flash Drive and press OK to continue". Tried another upate package, same result (after powerdown/repower). Then I realized my original mistake, went back and created another update with the first three boxes selected. I got the same message from unit, that this update was not correct for my IFly unit (#MB9C0236). Anybody know how to unklutz my IFly?

This exact same thing happened to me doing USB updates on my 720 (WiFi updates worked fine) back in Februrary. The fix was done by Ed Moore at AP Customer Support. You can call Ed at: (888) 200-5129 or E-mail: ed@adventurepilot.com and he will fix you right up. ---Ralph

Ralph, thanks for the pointer. I called up Adventure Pilot and talked to Ed. We went through a few steps trying to resolve the issue and discovered that since I have an early model, the newer programming was seeing an extra space in my unit serial number. Ed fixed it on his end and the downloads are loading as I write this. I sure am impressed by the customer service at AP.

Skyflyr: Yes, Amen! The AP Customer Support is legendary and certainly leads the industry. It is any wonder iFly sales are taking over the market? ===Ralph
