What type of cable is being used to get audio from the unit's ear out port to the headphone jack? Is there a "double adapter splitter" that will accept the 2.5mm ear out jack/cable and the M642 headphone(1/4")jack then into the headphone audio panel? thanks!

It's a standard 2.5MM audio out jack. I'm unable to advise on how to plug this into your audio panel...many panels have a port specifically for aux/audio/etc. What kind of panel do you have? Maybe some other iFly forum goers can suggest something...

Hi Walter, My airplane was made in '65. It only has the standard RX/TX receptacles for headphones made into the panel. One set on the pilot side (below the VSI) and the other on the co-pilot side (next to the D/C intercom control which isn't in the photo).

I'm not a radio expert, and I'm not sure what you intend to do, but I would imagine that the jacks in your panel are only for getting your headset microphone into the radio, and the audio from the radio into your headset. If you want to introduce the iFly audio inot your headset you're likely going to have to either get an intercom that has an "audio in" that's normaly used to plug in a music source. Another option would be if there's a headset on the market that has a 1/8" input jack, again mostly intended to supply music to the headset.

Another option would be to replace the old audio panel with a PS Engineering 8000BT which has an aux input jack. You then would have bluetooth for wireless headsets and other electronics and much better audio outputs.
