I have a IFLY 700. In the process of trying to fit everything I want on the screen I've created over 20 "custom instrument groups". Is there a way to delete them 'en mass' (all at once) or do I have to delete each unwanted one individually? Thanks, Mike

Mike,

You can remove all the Custom Waypoints by putting the SD card into your PC and deleting the below files. Additionally, you should also be able to open them on your PC and edit the list. Save and then put back into your PC. There is obviously some risk here, so be careful not to delete or edit other files.

CustomLocations.txt
CustomLocationsBAK.dat
The safest way is it manually delete unwanted waypoints, but the above is an alternative so edit or delete in mass. I hope this helps. Once complete, insert back into your iFly 700 and boot to Navigation and test to see that they are gone.

But I think he's talking about Instrument Groups he saved while playing with iFly. (Not waypoints.)

My bad. Sorry about that. I thought I saw Waypoints. Wow... 20 instrument groups.

On the App, you are pretty much going to have to delete them individually by selecting the Layout and Delete Layout. You cannot delete the "Default Layouts"

For iFly dedicated devices, it is very similar to the above for Waypoints, only you could not edit it, only delete. The file for the Custom Instruments would be the InstSettings.xml file. Delete this and it will create a new one with the defaults at boot up. Use the InstSetting with "Portrait" to remove those for groups Portrait Mode. Again, be careful when deleting filed on the SD card. some will auto generate and some will not. If in doubt, call us please.

Ok! Thanks. Rather than take a chance I'll probably delete them individually. Sometimes with computer stuff I know just enough to get in trouble. The reason there are so many custom instrument groups is I've been trying to fit everything on the screen. Finally decided to eliminate some of the functions=more room.
