Still no luck getting the weather to show on my iFly720 after several attempts. Below are the most recent details (a flight today) that might help the experts determine the steps I need to take:

Stratus I indications:
- all three lights on during power-up as normal
- middle power light then stays on and then the right "transmitting" light comes on. This is the same "transmitting" light that does not illuminate if I turn the unit on at my desk at home.

Flight conditions:
- clear skies over San Antonio today, and flying at 4,000 feet msl, Stratus 1 on the glare shield (ok ... dash board) above the instrument panel.

iFly720 indications:
- Setup -to- wifi symbol (the bottom choice) -to- WiFi Setting screen; shows WiFi Status "ON" and shows the WiFi Network as "Stratus017627" with the little symbol (chess pawn with transmitting circles) good to go (no red or lock)

- Navigation -to- Map Mode -to- "Weather(ADSB signal lost)" ..... this is the menu choice as listed: it shows the map with the green circles locally and if I backed out to the maximum scale you could see the red circles lined up on the east coast, indicating the weather they were having today as a front was passing through. But no map cloud cover or rain indications anywhere.

- Navigation -to- Menu -to- About -to- Connected Devices: Connected Devices screen lists "Stratus ADBS Receiver" at the top. Status:Not Receiving; Last Nexrad Image:Never; and all the remaining 7 lines show "0"

Please let me know if I can try something else for you for more information. I feel like I am close, but no cigar!

Thanks,
Nelson Amen

Nelson, it sounds like you have set everything up correctly. Can you confirm the "Heartbeat" line on the Connected Devices form is showing 0? I notice you state "New Stratus 1"...I wonder if Stratus has changed the firmware in their new units to force it to only be used with ForeFlight? Do you know what firmware is on the unit, and when it was installed?

Walter,

Many thanks for the very prompt response. I really enjoy my iFly720. It is a great product.

The Heartbeats indicates 0.

The Stratus 1 is only new-to-me. I purchased it used from a Beechcraft club member who upgraded to a Stratus II. A nice guy who said it worked great for him. I do not know the manufacture date but serial number is 017627 if that might help you all establish the version / software.

I performed a 30 minute vfr flight today with cloud cover at about 3500 ft. I was flying at 2800 feet msl from 8T8 to Bulverde airpark just north of San Antonio. Still no luck. But the transmit light on the Stratus was illuminating during the flight.

Be safe,
Nelson

Nelson,

By chance did your friend say it was working with the iFly GPS app?

Thanks,

Walter
