Problem. you are in an FBO someplace in a trip, you want to update with Ifly Connect,
As of now, there is NO WAY to do this, without installing IFly Connect into the FBO pc, the ONLY place I can do it, is from my PC AT HOME, Could it be possible to Put IFly Connect on your IFly 700/720 SD Card and access IFly Connect from anywhere that way, In a word, make it "Portable"
Or Better Yet put Ifly on a Windows 8 platform

Ciao

An alternative is to keep a USB thumb drive with you, update to the thumb drive, then check for updates after the thumb drive is plugged into the iFly700 (not sure how the iFly720 works, sorry).

I have a SD card problem today. When I inserted and initiated iFly connect it said "new version needs to download". However, the new version would not download. Now iFly connect does not work. It just sits at the downloading manifest splash screen with something extra popping up. What happened? I am updating using the create and download zip file method. Another 12m to go. I hope it works. I may try removing iFly connect completely from my laptop and reinstalling. Maybe that will help.

Updated using zip file. Oops, I am still out of date for all of the plates, some of the sectionals, all of the airports, some of the TACs, some of the WACs, and aviation database. I have removed iFly connect and am setting up the program again. The download portion is taking a very long time. Maybe my DSL is slow as too many in my area sometimes report? It is 2.81 Mbps down and 0.73 Mbps up according to speedtest.net. This is while trying to install iFly connect. Still at 5% after 20 minutes?

After an hour it stopped and said check with someone. I do not hink it is my internet connection as iFly seems to be only thing affected. Maybe a lot of folks are having this problem and the iFly server is strained?

Now I see the message Internet Explorer Only. I hate it, but can use it.

AND IE did not work either!

Tried this morning and it reacted in seconds. There is an addditional page that opens as yesterday, so something is new and the roadblock is gone.
