I am using my iFly720 with the Clarity ADS-B and it is not maintaining connectivity. I am planning to get a different ADS-B unit and want to know who is having success with which models and/or which units have had issues. I prefer a unit that includes weather and AHARs. Thanks.

Steve: I am using the 720 with a SkyGuardTWX VisionPro Transciever (978MHz + AHRS) and there has not been any connection issue at all. There is a temproary glitch if you use the SkyGuard GPS signal instead of the 720 internal GPS. The glitch is a sporadic terrain warning, but otherwise this combo has been perfect for me. By the way, I tested the SkyGuard TWX WiFi signal strength and the 720 picked it up fine from 30 feet way. I could not be more pleased. =====Ralph

I highly recommend from my experiences the Skyguard(tranciever) or Skyradar-D(receive only) products with iFly. Both connect flawlessly with the 720 via WiFi. And a friend with a 700 recently tried my Skyradar with a USB cable, which I didn't even know was possible, and it worked flawlessly too.

P.S.
I'm looking to sell my Skyradar-D2 if your interested:)

Clarity and Clarity SV (iFly 720 w/ serial beginning FL11 are compatible via Wi-Fi).

Also stated on this website is that the currently shipping iFly720 units are NOT compatible with Clarity units. These two statements seem to contradict each other. Are units beginning with the FL11 units (meaning all new units shipping) compatible?

Thanks,

Wes

Wes,

Probably needs a little clarification. The early iFly 720's started with FL11. We upgraded our Wi-Fi card and the FL12 and FL13's do not work with the Clarity. The Clarity uses a peer-to-peer connection, not the standard Access Point. We've asked them to join the rest of the industry and put out a firmware update to move thier device to Access Point, however to date they have not.

The iFly 720's currently shipping begin with FL12 and FL13. They are not compatibile with the Clarity. I hope this helps.

Thanks Shane. I still think the Clarity unit would be my choice if it weren't for this issue. I'm not quite ready to pull the trigger anyway, so we'll see where they are in the near future. I plan on selling my iFly 700 and upgrade to the iFly 720 some day.

Wes
