I have have had a 720 for quite sometime and it has operated flawlessly until recently. The current software version is 7.6.7. During my last 2 flights, I have experienced problem with the operation of the unit. At the airport, after powering the unit on, it switches, as expected, to the airport diagram view. When I click the "Map" button to go back to the sectional view, nothing happens. I clicked it several times with no result. Sometimes the "Option" button pops up and then goes away.

The same thing happens when I am on the sectional view and then go to an airport information page. After viewing the airport information, I click the "Close" button, and, once again, nothing happens. I can do this several times with no result. I finally had to power down the unit for the flight.

I am at home outside, with the unit powered up, and it is doing the same thing. The sectional screen showed first, and then it switched to an aerial view of my property. I can't get it to go back to another screen by clicking the map button.

NOTE: I just downloaded the latest version of the software, and am still getting the same results.

Are there any known issues with this version of the software? Do you suspect that it is a hardware problem. Any reccomendations that you have would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks! - Alon Wood

Alon: Have not read about this problem associated with the newest software version (7.6.19 -production). It sounds to me like perhaps you may need to re-calibrate your screen? Right after boot, go to the set-up screen and follow the instructions to re-calibrate your screen. It's worth a try. ====Ralph

I am guessing you're not seeing a software problem, but rather screen calibration drift, which can happen over time. I suspect that you're pressing the screen where the button is, but the iFly senses the press to be in a different part of the screen.

Also, if you're using your finger to press the screen buttons, you might have better results using a stylus (like a ball point pen cap) or your fingernail, instead of the pad of your figner.

Try recalibrating your screen and see if that makes it behave better. Power it up, go to "Setup", then click the second icon (looks like a computer monitor with an arrow cursor in it). Follow the instructions (using a stylus).

PA-22 and Cobra - Thanks for taking the time to respond to my post. The screen calibration did fix the problem. I was afraid that this might be an out of warranty hardware issue. I appreciate your help! - Alon
