Sagetech just announced that they are now shipping their Clarity line of ADH-B and AHRS products.

Shane, have you guys tested a production model and confirmed that the 720 works with it.

I've been looking at Clarity and Levil since Osh last year. I prefer the Clarity since it seems to work wifi and offers weather as well as AHRS. Although Clarity can show traffic (via ADS), that's not my strong interest

Yes, I've tested both the Clarity and the iLevil, early production units. Both ADS-B units are functioning on the iFly 720. Weather, Traffic and AHRS. The Clarity is a smaller unit than the iLevil.

The iLevil has weather, traffic and AHRS, but has an external antenna so you will have the option to connect a wired remote antenna, it comes with a standard 4" antenna. Something else that is cool about the iLevil, is that it has a Solar trickle charger, so if continually is trying to recharge. It's also several hundred dollars less than the Clarity SV.

Both are great units. We had to send our Clarity SV back for a software upgrade, should be back in a week. I think you'll be happy with either.

Don't think they've shipped yet. I saw where they were not shipping till mid april. Looks like they are waiting for fun&sun? They only have the two models now and they are WAY over-priced. Although at $1400 the AHRS version is cheaper then a skyradar with levil ahrs combo AND you get battery powered, making it the best buy of the two. But for the basic dual frequency you can get the skyradar for almost half the price. I don't think the extra $500+ for battery power is worth it.

As you are making price comparisons between the iLevel and the Clarity, keep in mind, Folks, the iLevel is a single band device (978 MHz UAT only), whereas the Clarity is a dual band device. If all you want or need is weather then having the 1090 band does not matter, but if you are interested in traffic avoidance in busy airspace flying among the big iron, then you will benefit from having the 1090 MHz, too. (But if you REALLY need traffic displayed in the cockpit, you should be considering investing in the ADS-B out transponders, anyway.) === Ralph

Ralph,

Well stated. I've flown with many of these ADS-B receivers now and concur. If you "Need" traffic in the cockpit and it is not just a want or additional level of awareness, you really should be looking at an ADS-B out. Nav Worx, Clarity and FreeFlight have an are working on ADS-B in/out devices for the 2020 mandate. The ADS-B In receivers were really designed with Weather and NexRad in mind, limited traffic was only a perk.

I know you probably know this, but for those who don't, the ADS-B out reports exactly where you are located with GPS positioning and then they in turn pipe a custom Traffic stream back to you. If you don't have the ADS-B out they don't send anything back, thus you're only picking up the ground area broadcast TIS (example: Class B) and coat-tailing another aircraft with an ADSB Out device and seeing their traffic stream. I hope this help.
