I tend to agree with this sentiment. If I understand the effect of a dynamic line, it would mean that no matter how off course I was, it would appear I was still direct to my next waypoint/destination.

"[Flightplan] - [destination] - [direct to here]."

Perhaps it the above were modified to include the next waypoint, or one of multiple waypoints.

[Flightplan] - [waypoint 1/waypoint 2/(etc.)/destination] - [direct to here].

If you have a flightplan with multiple waypoints you can select any waypoint and the [direct to here]. The trouble is I believe this wipes out the remainder of the flight plan.

Perhaps when you select [direct to here] it could ask to keep the remainder of the flightplan with a simple [yes] or [no] button if there are addional waypoints in your flightplan. This would be especially helpful when following an IFR flightplan and ATC gives you a shortcut.

If you choose to use the Direct to a Waypoint or Destination, it will as if you want to replace your existing plan. You can go to the Flight Plan page, save your plan, then do the Direct To. We are looking into a possible independent Direct To and FlightPlan for a future release.
