If you are diverted from the current displayed "direct to" line, is thare an easy way to recompute/display a new line from your current position to the destination without having to select the destination again?.

Great question! I was wondering if there was a way to create a dynamic "Direct to" line that followed the plane's position and continually updated the course line to destination.

It's a few taps...not much different than on my garmin 530.

[Flightplan] - [destination] - [direct to here].

The only time this doesn't work is if you have multiple waypoints as it will wipe out your current flightplan.

I'm not crazy about a dynamic line as it removes a layer of situational awareness.

"I'm not crazy about a dynamic line as it removes a layer of situational awareness."

I tend to agree with this sentiment. If I understand the effect of a dynamic line, it would mean that no matter how off course I was, it would appear I was still direct to my next waypoint/destination.

"[Flightplan] - [destination] - [direct to here]."

Perhaps it the above were modified to include the next waypoint, or one of multiple waypoints.

[Flightplan] - [waypoint 1/waypoint 2/(etc.)/destination] - [direct to here].

I don't think that is really needed today. You have the direct bearing to the waypoint always displayed, and with the moving map you get the situational awareness.

Back inthe pre-moving map Loran days, with a CDI type indication as your primary navigation, it was nice to be able to hit one button and have a new direct too coarse displayed.
