I was trying to connect my IFly unit to X-Planes 9.70. After getting the iFly serial cable, the serial expansion card with the serial ports, and the gender changer, I was still having difficulty getting the two to talk. I then noticed in the "About" menu on the iFly, there're a limited number of serial port numbers recognized. I looked in my PC hardware manager and noticed I had selected an expansion slot that did not show one of the recognized serial ports on the iFly. I relocated my serial expansion card to a slot that gave me COM7...COM2 and COM3 are not available on my PC for what ever reasons. I went back into the "About" menu and got a little "punchy" with the features of the COM ports. I thought I selected COM7 for "GPS Default" and deactivated the other ports. I then exited the Navigation mode. I fired up X-Planes, plugged the USB serial cable into the iFly, and then started up the Navigation. I'm assuming this is where I went wrong because after 2 hours, I still can not get the iFly Navigation mode to initialize successfully...it remains in the screen where it asks you to "Please Wait." I have tried to restart the unit several times, tried the GPS reset, and I've even tried reloading OS 7.5.20 with no luck. Any ideas/input will be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Michael,

I responded to your Support Email. I'd recommend either bringing that unit to us our sending it in. It sounds as though either the data on the SD card was damaged, deleted or corrupted by the connection to your PC.

The default com port for the internal GPS is Com 2.

We can test, troubleshoot and hopefully resolve your issue promptly once we have the unit. I hope this helps.
