After loading the new 7.5.18 last week, I set up to use the portrait mode for my southbound trip - everything worked just great. Getting used to the new button placement was easy.

My next leg (N47 - OQU) was ENE bound, so I reset to landscape mode, but the underlying sectional would not display the top half of the screen! Tried power off/power on, reset to portrait mode/landscape mode, no joy. Finally, out of desperation punched the screen a few times in the empty area and finally got the whole screen to display.

Any thoughts?

Bob,

I am not aware of this happening specifically. I know sometimes a simple screen tap or mode change will engage the program. I'll report this to Walter and Brian. Keep in mind that on the 720 a reboot, needs to remain unplugged for about 20 seconds. It should boot up with a "Loading" screen. Try this if it happens again, simply switch modes and then back. See if that correct the screen. It should not split the screen upon switching to Portrait Mode. I hope this helps. Also feel free to contact us at Support for further troubleshooting should it happen again. Also make sure you have the latest 7.5.19, and .20 is coming soon. Thanks for your feedback.

Robert, your departure airport is on the very top of the Washington North sectional. If you we're looking at that one instead of New York South, it would appear half the screen wasn't painting. Touching the "blank" area would force the other sectional to load, or it would switch when you fly off Washington. Any chance this is the culprit?

Also, BTW, it should not be necessary to completely power-off your iFly when toggling between landscape / portrait mode, simply restarting the aviation app will suffice.

Thanks!
Walter

Shane: My unit is an original 700 w/Streets added.

Walter: I started and finished with the NY sectional; N47 (Pottstown) is well above the bottom of the NY sectional (South).

Thanks.

Robert,

I think it would be best if you contacted us at the office so we can troubleshoot you on the phone in more detail. Forums are great, but sometimes challenging to get into detailed troubleshooting that may take some higher, multi-step troubleshooting into the device contents.

Ed, Walter or myself should be able to dig into this a little deeper. We'll get you fixed up, I am sure of it.

Can you replicate this again and again?
