I am considering buying the hood for my 700, but would like some opinions on how effective it is. Thanks!

I bought the hood a year ago...I fly mostly in Arizona where we have a lot of sun! I feel the purchase was worth the money. It gives the unit a better picture. Would recommend it

I made a similar hood out of black cardboard and some velcro. Took a few tries to get it right and it's not as durable as the advertised product. I probably should have just spent the $25....

the hood was having problems, with keeping open after a while in the case, so, I just inserted,in the seam a thin solid core electrical wire and now it keep its shape while open, I love it would not do without it
