Per Walters September Newsletter, I found out that AirGizmos has introduced a panel mount for the 700/720. Over ther last year or two on the forum, I've noticed some owners reporting problems with heat when panel mounting. My 700 is mounted on the yoke currently, no heat issue.

Has anyone at Ifly verified that the PD23 dock mount provides adequate ventilation for the 700/720?

Also, has anyone purchased, installed, and used this yet? I'm curious how easily it will mount in a 172M if I have the radios slid down after removing the paper weights.. (loran and ADF)

Wade,

I've had my 700 and now 720 panel mounted pretty much since day one. My 172I is the one I the Demo Video. I just installed the AirGizmo this weekend. I actually also used the H-Tilt that we will also offer so that it's angles towards the pilot. Here is a few pictures of mine. I put the radio at the top and the transponder at the bottom. I tested it out as it was near 100 degrees, worked like a charm. I've not had any heat issues yet. Also, it seems to be receiving a solid signal on he internal antenna, though I'll probably add an external just for grins. I might also move the GPS to the bottom so that the Radio and Transponder are on top, guess I was trying to hide my older transponder.

No need to hide the Transponder, mine looks just like that. BTW I love the portrait mode and it looks like you do as well.

Is portrait mode now available? Which version?

Dave and All,

Portrait Mode is part of the V7.5 Beta Release, currently being tested. We are just around the corner from full production on this. Version 7.5 will add Portrait Mode, Instruments Page, WAC Charts and many more enhancements like improved Night Mode and Larger Fonts. Just to name a few.

Both the 720 and 700 will get Portrait Mode, however the iFly 700 does not natively support Portrait Mode, so if there is too much of an impact of performance, we may either leave it as a Beta feature or possibly remove it from the iFly 700.

Please know that we are still working to improve the Portrait Mode performance on the iFly 700 so it is just to early to tell. The iFly 720 has no performance degradation with Portrait Mode.
