I just saw this post also. I received my L model last Monday and didn't get a chance to try it until Friday. Placed it on the glare shield powered it up along with the Ifly then connected the two with the usb cable. Took off and climbed to 1500 and after about 3min. weather appeared. I hope mine will be ok. Scheduled to make a little trip about Wed. so we'll see how it works. So far So good.

Bill, that's great news. I hope mine works as well and they are indeed compatible. I will test it out as soon as it arrives.

Has anyone set up the L model to work with the 720 wirelessly? Is it a fact that there is no traffic alerting with the L model?

Yes, we successfully connected the iFly 720 to the SkyRadar L Model this week at our offices. You'd want to make sure both units are up and running. Then connect the iFly 720 to the SkyRadar using the Wi-Fi setup menu. It will show "Connected to skyscopeXXXX" and then you should be able to go back to Nav and touch Mode. Weather should show ( ADS-B No-Data ). This will change To ( ADS-B Live ) as you get altitude or the SkyRadar is actually receiving a data stream.

As for Traffic, that is correct. There will not be traffic as we are not receiving it from the L Model. Radenna has clipped the Traffic data from the L Model. Hope this helps.

So the options at present are $600 for weather (L Model), $750 for weather and limited traffic (S2 model). I could always pick up a Zaon for the traffic I guess.

Decisions decisions!!!
