Alexey from SkyRadar sent me an e-mail this weekend informing me they changed the chipset used for their serial connections in the new model of the SkyRadar-L. He is mailing us one so we can test and hopefully find a solution, but until we get this resolved I would consider this model not compatible with the iFly 700. It should be okay with the 720 as that uses WiFi.

I have been emailing alexey as well, he had the same problem with his older ifly 700, and he is telling me that the underlying window CE needs updating, and I talked to Ed today and he is sending me a new card to update the system.

I have the sky radar S2 model not the L model.

hopefully this will fix my problem, I'll be sure to post an update about the progress

here is an update with my ifly 700 to sky radar issue......after updating the windows os, everything worked as advertised. I live in sunny arizona where the weather is alway clear, so I wasnt finding any weather out here to look at. but I was able to see current taf and metars for the area I was flying in. and I was able to see one ads-b traffic dot on the map the other night as I was driving home.

Has Adventurepilot made any progress on getting the SkyRadar-L to work with the 700? I ordered an L for my 700 last week and ran across this post after the fact. My Skyradar should be showing up tomorrow and I"m anxious to get it up and running. I'm taking a trip this coming Friday and was hoping to have ADS-B weather.

I just saw this post also. I received my L model last Monday and didn't get a chance to try it until Friday. Placed it on the glare shield powered it up along with the Ifly then connected the two with the usb cable. Took off and climbed to 1500 and after about 3min. weather appeared. I hope mine will be ok. Scheduled to make a little trip about Wed. so we'll see how it works. So far So good.
