I updated my map files this evening. All went well, and for whatever reason I went to check the expiration dates of my maps, just to make sure they were all up to date. When I checked the TAC's, I was surprised to find that the only files that existed were the ones in the update I just installed. All the rest said "does not exist" or something like that. Since I retain all the update files I make, I attempted to re-install the files. Anything that was compiled before the 15Dec11 group, returned an error message of "Invalid license file in update package" The Grand Canyon map, as well "did not exist" and the archived file I had and attempted to install, returned the "Invalid..." message.

All has ended well, as I simply recreated the December, and Grand Canyon files, and reinstalled the remaining 6 months or so of archived files, but since I am certain all those files were on the iFly I'm a little curious what happened, and wonder if it will occur again.

Any ideas?

Steve,

Yes, it's a 700, one of the first. I currently have Version 6.5.10. Did/do you need the S/N as well?

As near as I can recall, I installed the most recent TAC and Sectional updates. The ones from 31May12. I nearly always make separate update packages for each product. One for TAC's, one for Sectionals, one for the Aviation Database, and one for the Airport Diagrams. I also select all available items that contain the same effective date.

I didn't pay too close attention, as I didn't anticipate any problems.

Steve,

A couple of other things. Although the Grand Canyon chart is displayed if I scroll over there, I can't find it listed in the Sectional, or TAC window when checking for chart expirations. Should it be listed somewhere?

I don't see where the date of the latest Aviation Databases (airports, airspaces, obstructions, etc) is listed. Is there somewhere I should be able to verify that?

What is definitely missing from the list of TACs that needs updated is Fairbanks. It's not available on the AP beta nor regular update portals. It expired 5/30/2012. ===Ralph
