When I try downloading a larger size update package, I get a message on my I Fly unit "unable to complete the update process, please try downloading the update package again,or try using a different USB thumb drive." The file size is in the range of 250mb to 370mb. I'm using a 2G thumb drive. Tried updating my unit both from an off and on status. Tried different thumb drives. Have any help for me?

I believe if you read the note at the top of the update page, it says to use smaller packages if your thrumb drive's decoding software can't cut the mustard. So plan it for three small packages if you are going to upload all the things available. As sectionals come due at different times, it is not necessary to download all the sectional. Also if you only fly in one area of the country, pick and choose which states to download for approach charts, The same for enroute charts.

The post above is especially true if you have an older version of the basic software of the IFly.

The limitation for the iFly 700 is that it can't handle files larger than 2GB. The OP's files are only 20% that size. That should not be the issue.

Thanks for your tips. I will try smaller packets.
