What is your OS version? (System Menu / Config / System...then read the number next to "OS") 3.0.11 on S/N MB0C0179. Also, when you switch back to 6.0.8 are you swaping out the SD card? YES If so, there's a chance the settings are different - please verify your NMEA settings are the same in both versions. Both cards are set to Custom with GPRMB & GPRMC checked at 9600 baud Finally, what do you have selected in the "Load Prolific Drivers at Startup" option? Load Prolefic Driver Can you try changing that setting and rebooting your device? I tried it both ways with 6.5.6 and it made no difference with the extreme slugishness that my '700 was experiencing, but I will try running without the Prolific driver on 6.5.9.

I am hesitant to update my 6.0.8 SD card, because it is my only option to get NMEA output now, but if you think it might help shed some light I will make a back-up copy on my PC and update it. The card I am presently running 6.5.9 on is a 8GB Sandisk class 4.

I just realized this thread was in the wishlist forum...moved to Owners Q&A.

Anyway...had a couple more thoughts: Please re-send me your "exceptions.log" file so I can see if anything new is being thrown. The last one you sent was throwing an exception trying to read from the port, I want to see if that is still happening. Is there anything else plugged into your USB port (like a SkyRadar)? Finally, how is your cable connected - have you manually wired this to Pin 3 & 5? Or is this simply plugged into a male DB9 port?

There is nothing else plugged into the USB port and the serial adapter out is manually wired from only pins 3 & 5. I will email the exceptions file from my last test as described below.

Here's what I have done since my last reply:

I made a copy of the 6.0.8 SD card that is working, updated it to 6.5.9, double checked the NMEA settings and got the same cycling results with and without the Prolific driver installed. I then installed the 6.0.8 SD card rebooted and everthing is fine.

Would it be possible to have a 6.0.8 version of the software made available on the beta update site for '700 trouble shooting? This would eliminate even more variables and make things a bit easier.

I test flew with 6.5.9 beta today.

With both my EFIS /AutoPilotand the SkyRadar connected they both showed up in 'Connected Devices' as before. However I got nothing on the EFIS at all (no change to NMEA settings). The EFIS set-up worked perflectly with 6.0.8. As before if I unplug the Serial (EFIS) cable from the hub and leave just the SkyRadar then I seem to get weather.

In summary - SkyRadar function as before - must be the only thing plugged in to get consistent weather. EFIS/Autopilot - now nothing (worked perflectly on 6.0.8, worked intermittently on 6.5.6

Should also be noted I got 2 or 3 sytem lock-ups.

I'm beginning to conclude this is going to be an either/or and not a both choice. Anyone got any other ideas. Is there anywhere I can download 6.0.8 to roll-back?
