After using the aviation version I can't understand how the street version works. I have to spend an inordinate amount of time modifying routes just to get them reasonable. It trys to backtrack all the time and if I had no directional sense I'd be lost all the time. Its painful to set up any route and moving things once selected requires starting from scratch. The fact that it requires you to pick the country and state to start with is stupid when a zip code or city would be so much faster. Too many steps just to get started......

Maybe its just because I'm an "old " guy and I'm not up on silly electronics but the IFly is so simple and I don't understand why streets is so complex. I wish it had an overhead view like the sectionals instead of the useless street view and empty overhead map. I find that using the aviation side is easier for navigating streets than the street version. I guess I only wasted $50 but its still a sad thing.....

Sorry for whining. Just trying to plan a road trip I thought was going to be a plane trip and the 10 minute flight planning turned into an hour and half waste of time with the street plan. Mapquest was easier to use and much much faster (and more sensible in its directions). Best trip time mapquest 17:56. Best trip time IFly streets 28:59. I didn't really want to visit atlanta to get to houston.....

I have had highways selected but one big beef is that the system tries to avoid any roads that aren't a highway. After missing a planned turn on our trip yesterday the mileage to the target kept going up. I finally figured out that the gps wanted us to go back to the missed turn before continuing and it kept trying to get us to turn around. I guess you guys did too good a job on the aviation setup and it makes this one look bad. I'd really like to be able to get distance to any point with a touch like the aviation setup etc. I can get distance to my destination but it won't give me time to destination. I can add waypoints but can't seem to delete them without redoing the whole trip.

I'm learning how this side works but its not intuitive like yours and makes no logical sense. This one requires reading the manual and studying. I find it easier to just get out the road map.

You can touch the bottom right where the mileage countdown is, and it will display the time remaining and another gauge (km?). Touch it again, and it will revert to miles only. Found this by chance.

I agree, the Street's user-friendliness does not come close to the iFly, and I had some of the same problems. Once you experiment with it a little, it becomes useable, and I do love the graphics. I don't drive much out of the area, but a recent trip to Boston became the "shake-down cruise" and well worth having it in spite of the challanges.

Try touching and holding the either the time ramaining or the KM. This will bring up a Data Fields selection window. From here you can select the actual data fields you want displayed. Time Left is on there. You can actually choose from Destination, Waypoint or General fields to drop in the 1 of 3 data slots. Below is the breakdown of the data choices. You can also touch to toggle between those your have selected as favorites to be displayed on the Map.

Destination - Distance, Time Left and Arrival Time

Waypoints - Distance, Time Left and Arrival Time

General - Speed, Speed Limit, Time, Altitude.

Street Navigation takes alot more complex planning and calculations for streets, street types. If it is not planning the route you see as the fastest or shortest, try going to More... from the start up screen. Then select Settings, arrow down and select Route Settings. Here you can change the Route Planning Mode to Fast, Green, Short or Easy. You can also use the check boxes below that to select or deselt items such as Tollways, Ferries, HOV and etc. This should really help out. Most that use the iFly Street really love it, especially when coming from a Tom Tom or Garmin Nuvi. It just offers so much customization. I hope this helps.
