As far as I know, the "Hidden / Fixed / Dynamic" settings are the only menu options that affect whether the rings are visible or not. If you have either Fixed or Dynamic selected, you should be seeing the ring...especially if you're seeing the distance box that's usually "attached" to the ring.
What kind of device are you using? Which version of iFly are you running?
You might want to submit a bug report. This should work pretty seamlessley from an Android or iOS tablet: Menu > About > Send Bug Report. It will launch your email app with the relevant log files, and allow you to write a message to go along with it. If you're using an iFly device (like a 720 or 740), or a Windows machine, your mileage may vary. (If you're in one of those cases, let us know.)
