Just flew with my iFly for the first time in about 9 months. The flight was from Hawthorne, CA (LAX) to just south of Mojave, CA. Soon after departing, the unit lost the GPS signal for about 15 minutes. It regained the GPS signal over Burbank and then lost it about 10 miles north of Burbank all the way to Lancaster. The trip back was the same. No signal until getting closer to Burbank, signal for a short while, and then loss of signal for the rest of the flight back to LAX.

Onboard avionics consists of a GPSMap 296 which never lost the signal, a Garmin GNS430W, and KX-155 for number 2 Nav-Com.

I have a Grumman Tiger. No external GPS antenna.

Maybe I should have checked to see if I could push the plug tighter into the cigarette lighter receptacle.

I hope that's all that it was. I'll report back next weekend after using it again.

I had the same thing happen on both legs of an out-and-back a few weeks back, three days apart, about 2hrs into the flight for both occurrences, and in the same approximate location (between Cheyenne, WY and McCook, NE). I tried everything - turning off all other avionics, repositioning the device to the dash. etc. Nothing fixed it.

Based on it happening in the same spot I wrote it off as 'ground based interference' despite being at 12,500'. No NOTAMs for the GPS constellation (NOTAM ID: KGPS) applicable at the time either.

Hasn't happened before or since.
