Perhaps I am missing something here , I bought, use,and enjoy little to no glare with the 740 !
As do I...most of the time. One of the 740's selling points is its very bright screen that is still readable, even in bright lighting conditions that wash out other screens.
But espeically in aircraft with lots of windows--think an RV bubble canopy, for instance--direct sun on the screen or on light-colored objects that can be seen in reflections off the screen can still cause visibility issues.
With my cabin geometry, this rarely occurs. Occasionally, on mid-morning or late-afternoon flights with the sun shining in over my left shoulder and falling right on the screen, I can have some issues, but then it's easy to hold my hand to shade the screen, and the condition only lasts for a short time (until the sun gets high or low enough to no longer be a problem, or I change course).
For other people with a lot more window area, it can be a bigger deal.
