Hello walter,

When I first purchased my I FLY700, I was impressed with the screen brightness and the fact you could see it in most enivronment. Ever since I upgraded to the version 5 ( i don't have 5.14, I assume this has to do with adding autopilot capability). It seems the screen is not as bright as before. Now days the slightest sun light, makes the screen hard to see. I have tried increasing the brightness through menu, setting, it is set at maximum and it doesn't help. likewise when you change the mode to night, you can't see anything, where as before you could still see the screen, but not as bright. looking forward to seeing your comments on this issue. This unit is hardly used

PS the glare stopmer velcro add on is of no use.

Nick and John,

There was a possibility in an earlier version of v5, that upon returning to Day Mode, it might not return to full brightness. This was sporadic and possibly if you had dimmed the unit prior to selecting Night Mode. I would recommend updating to version 5.15 just to be sure. If a cycle back to Day Mode does not correct it, ie. after selecting Night Mode and returning to Day Mode, try to select Day Mode even if it shows Day Mode. If you still experience a dimmer screen, I would suggest you contact our support department at 888-200-5129 to troubleshoot your device. This is not something we have seen before and Version 5 has been out for quite some time now. I am sorry for any frustration on this matter, we will get you taken care of.

I have had my ifly for a few months and finally getting to fly some long cross country flights. It has been working great and everyone I show it to loves it. I too however have been wishing the screen is somewhat brighter.

It sure would be nice to have a "direct to" button on the main screen without having to first pushing the menu button.

I went for a short flight today and it seemed the screen was considerably darker than it used to be. It seems to me, once upon a time, that I couldn't darken the screen to black. I tried today and it seemed to dim down to black. I haven't verified, but I'm pretty sure I have the latest software version.

I checked and I was not in night mode.

I selected day mode just to be sure.

I could see the screen, but it was overcast and may have been more difficult if it was brighter.

Mike,

Here are a couple things to note, see if these apply. If you think your iFly is defective please give us a call and we'll work on finding a solution.

1) A "white sky" sort of overcast day is actually the worst possible scenario for viewing the iFly. A bright sunny day usually allows for shadows. And even sunlight right on the screen will reflect in a single direction. But light coming in from every angle will cause more washout. You could try the iFly Sun Visor, this does a great job of solving this problem.

2) We have not made any changes to the how the screen brightness fundamentally works in any of our releases; the drivers and underlying screen management utils have not changed. The "Night Mode" feature simply automates darkening the screen, rather than using the remote. But try using the remote or the UI, hit the "bright" button to make sure it's fully bright. Also make sure you were not in night mode.
