ADS-B Rebate ineligible

I have been using the SkyGuard ADS-B portable unit for awhile and have decided to install the Appareo Stratus panel mounted unit and take advantage of the rebate. According to the FAA website, I am ineligible for the rebate because I have been in the system with the portable unit. What's up with that?

Same here. I'm wondering if this means the FAA is accepting the skyguard as a tso'd solution? The whole point of the rebate was to encourage the GA community to update now instead of later. Makes no sense.

It makes sense if the incentive is to get more people covered with ADS-B sooner. If you are already covered, there is no advantage to have you install your permanent solution sooner. It makes more sense to get people with no ADS-B to install sooner.

No, the portable Skyguard is not a TSO'd solution.

Doesn't matter until 2020. The incentive should be to get people without ADS-B to install sooner. That gets the ball rolling plus improves safety sooner. I don't see any reason to use taxpayer money to get people who already have a temporary solution to install their permanent solution sooner.
