I get a lot of audio noise from the headphone out on the 740 when it is charging. It happens both in the plane and when plugged into the wall outlet at home. It doesn't make a difference if it is plugged into the audio panel or when I am wearing headphones. It has an electrical buzz/whine sound to it. Once I unplug the power cord it goes away. Also I don't get the noise through the unit speakers it's only on the aux audio out. Anyone have any ideas about what could be causing it or how to mitigate it?

We'll do some internal testing in the office. Stay tuned. Are you by chance using the external battery pack?

Shane,

No I'm not using the battery pack. I get an electrical hum in the audio and some random clicks. It is similar to the sound a cell phone make when it causes interference in audio stuff. I've tested it at home and in the plane. Seems worse in the plane? Maybe a ground loop issue causing it to be worse.

It only happens when it is plugged into a power source. When running on the battery the noise goes away.

I'll double check tonight and post back with a for sure scenario for you to see if you can duplicate the noise.

At first I thought it was cell phone interference so I turned all those off and then I thought maybe I plugged the audio plug into the wrong jack on the iFly. (was thinking I had it in the "AV-OUT" instead of "AUX" but I had it correct.

Audio quality is good on the iFly's speakers.

Thanks,
Mike

Well I fired up the 740 and plugged in headphones and no noise at home tonight. I'll check it in the aircraft the next time I get out there. It'll be a couple weeks before that happens though. I am getting a new audio panel installed as I type so all may be well there when done too.
